Today’s verse is 2 Corinthians 4:18  and it says:   “SO WE FIX OUR EYES NOT ON WHAT WE’RE SEEING, BUT WHAT IS UNSEEN, for WHAT IS SEEN IS TEMPORARY, BUT WHAT IS UNSEEN IS ETERNAL.” And what comes to mind when you think about this verse. The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to a church that was in a place of struggle.   They were finding it hard to understand suffering, limitations and disappointment.   But this verse provided a powerful invitation for them and also for us today: We are invited to fix our eyes on what we can not see. Now to fix our eyes means to intentionally focus, to train your attention.   Now think about that for a second with me: Paul is not denying reality, he is teaching us how to interpret reality. What we see around us, our circumstances, our bodies, our struggles, even our successes, these things are real.   But imagine an iceberg in the ocean: what you see above the water is only a small fraction of what is actu...

PRAY AUDACIOUS PRAYER

PRAY AUDACIOUS PRAYERS  by Max Lucado Encouraging Words Podcast Joshua 10 There is a remarkable story in Joshua chapter 10.  While in battle the Hebrews needed more daylight. Joshua asks God to stop the sun from setting and God does. Verse 14 says God took orders from a human voice.  How is that for a reminder that God listens when we pray? When Martin Luther's co worker became ill,the reformer prayed boldly for this healing. He wrote: I besought the Almighty with great vigor, I attacked him with his own weapons, quoting from Scripture all the promises I could remember that my prayers should be granted, that God must grant my prayer if I was hanceforth to put faith in his promises. One another occasion his good friend Frederick Myconeous was sick.  Luther wrote to him, I command you in the name of God to live, because I still have need of thee in the reforming work of the Church. The Lord will never let me hear that thou art dead, but will permit thee to survive me; ...

The word of God in Mathew 16 teaching us about some dangers in our earthly life.   This passage tells us about to be alert of the signs of the times, to be guard on against teachings wich mistake us, to know  who he truly is, to not be blind of our fairs and fellings instead to be trustfull to the God's commandments and to remember we will meet Jesus onde da to be reward of our doings here. Jesus is with his disciples at that moment, when the pharisees and sadducees tested him by asking a sign from heaven. Jesus answered them that they are able to recognize the nature signs about the weather but are not able to recognize the signs of the times. It was an oppostion since the nature's signns are from God who is the Lord of earth and heaven. So, Jesus immediatly starts to teach his disciples to be on guard againt the yeast of the pharisees and saducees, how dangerous is it, because when someone is using yeast it is to enlarge, duplicate the quantity, it means that this perso...

This is the gospel that you heard and has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.   Colossians 1: 21-23 Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and mankind What if two nations are at war and need a mediator to negotiate? We’ll assume that the mediator is not from either of the nations.   This position requires a impartial person to act as a mediator in the war. When we look at this illustration, we can understand Martin L...

(picked phrases from Pr. Brazil was the nation that has sent the most missionaries to the world.  We had a lot of missionaries in various countries, and they lived in poor situations, almost without resources, but they went abroad to these nations because they didn't have their life as precious; instead, they were putting God's work in first place. In the old days, our children desired to go to Mission Camp, we could see it because when we preached about bringing souls to the Kingdom, and we asked if someo...

AGAPE LOVE

(picked phrases from Pr. Marcelo Nascimento's sermon) 09/21/25– Morning worship at Agape Missional Christian Church, SP, BR                                                         AGAPE LOVE ROMANS 13:14 : Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. - Jesus sums up the commandments with one: LOVE ONE ANOTHER. • This commandment is not the same love we use to feel in human relationships; it isn't by flesh or sex or a selfish feeling where it only wants and does not give up itself. You see it in Rom 12:1 I “urge” you, brothers in view of “God’s mercy” = is a begging to pay attention to the following recommendation: … to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual act of worship. - Give yourself all to God – it is giving yourself to gl...
